1 Introduction

Roniko ("we", "our", or "us") is an iOS application that converts speech to text. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use Roniko.

By using Roniko, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.

2 Information We Do Not Collect

Roniko is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect:

• Your voice recordings or audio files
• Transcribed text or notes
• Personal identifying information
• Location data
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Usage analytics or behavioral data
• Crash reports sent to our servers

3 On-Device Processing

All speech recognition in Roniko is performed locally using WhisperKit, an open-source on-device machine learning framework. Your audio never leaves your device during transcription.

Transcripts and recordings are stored only in your device's local storage (SwiftData). They are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party service.

4 URL & YouTube Feature

When you use the URL transcription feature, Roniko sends the URL you provide to a Firebase Cloud Function to retrieve an audio stream. This is the only case where any data leaves your device.

• Only the URL you submit is sent — no audio, no transcripts, no personal data
• The returned audio stream is processed on your device by WhisperKit
• We do not log or store submitted URLs

5 Microphone Access

Roniko requests microphone access solely to record audio for transcription. Audio is processed in real-time on your device and is never transmitted elsewhere. You may revoke microphone access at any time through iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.

6 Subscriptions & Payments

Roniko Pro subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not process, store, or have access to your payment information. All billing is handled by Apple under their terms.

To manage or cancel subscriptions, visit: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your iOS device.

7 Third-Party Services

Roniko uses the following third-party services in limited contexts:

• Firebase Cloud Functions (Google) — Used only for URL audio resolution. No personal data is processed.
• Apple App Store — For subscription and payment processing.
• WhisperKit — Open-source on-device speech recognition. Runs entirely locally.

8 Children's Privacy

Roniko is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has used Roniko in a way that raises privacy concerns, please contact us.

9 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of Roniko after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
